A magical fantasy necklace that goes with any style of dress or occasion! 17 inches of jewelry-grade brass in 18 gauge 1/4 inch diameter rings, with black glass and brass beads. Closes with a lobster clasp, which can be hooked to any ring, making it adjustable up to a maximum of 17 inches. Each piece is individually hand crafted and unique. I use saw-cut rings, which are best for applications where you want to be very particular about the finished appearance of each ring, such as with fine jewelry. A saw cut ring is made by an industrial machine that cuts a coil with a rotary saw blade. Every saw cut ring I use is deburred, polished and cleaned. I use Jewelers Brass (alloy C226) rings for my chainmail jewelry. It looks very similar to yellow gold when its not tarnished. The strength and corrosion properties are similar to yellow brass – jeweler’s brass is about 8% stronger and costs a bit more. Brass tarnishes but can be cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner or any commercially available brass cleaner – like Brasso. Most brass wire you will find is soft, but these brass rings are 1/2 hard temper which combines strength with workability.
