Copper Wash over Sterling Silver Small Swirl Pendant by Rebecca McNerney Designs
Rebecca McNerney retired from making jewelry in her Arizona studio in 2018, so it is rare to find any of her pieces that are still new. Rebecca’s designs combined sterling silver beads & clasps with freshwater pearls. She also made sterling silver slides, stackable sterling silver rings, sterling silver charms and handmade sterling chains. The sterling silver elements were all designed by Rebecca using the lost wax casting technique. “My work focused on the textural differences between the silver & the pearls & gemstones that I use. I liked to combine smooth pearls & round stones with textured & oxidized metal. My designs were very simple and focus on the intrinsic beauty of the materials.” This was one of her «swirl» pendants. This one is sterling silver with a unique copper wash technique used. It gives it a two-tone appearance. It would be beautiful alone on a simple chain or grouped with other charms.
